Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has sworn in a 26-year-old lady, Joana Nnazua Kolo, as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the state, a report by Punch has revealed.

Kolo, who is a 2018 graduate of Library Science of Kwara State University, is believed to be the youngest commissioner in the history of Nigeria.

She ended her National Youths Service Corps programme early October in Jigawa State, where she taught at Model Boarding Junior Secondary School Guri.

Kolo expressed delight at her appointment, promising to carry out her duties diligently.

She tweeted, “I was inaugurated as the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development by His Excellency, @RealAARahman on Friday.

“I return all glory and adoration to Almighty God, I pray for His guidance in actualising the Kwara of our dream.

“I also want to express my gratitude to our indefatigable governor for the confidence he reposed in me to serve as one of his cabinet members.

“I promise to discharge my duty diligently and not to let our youth folks down.”

During the swearing-in of Kolo and other commissioners, Abdulrazaq urged them to engage, listen, and relate well with people whose mandate has put the administration in place.

He said that the cabinet needed to see the whole of Kwara as their constituency.

“Let me remind all of you that we are not the best of the 3.5m people in this state. However, providence has placed on our shoulders the historic responsibility to take our people out of Egypt and safely into the Canaan land.

“This task requires focus, patience, sacrifice, tact, speed, and constant supplication to God Almighty to guide us every step of the way,” the governor said.

He charged the cabinet members to relate as a broom, stronger together with each watching the back of the other.
